Since
I'm asking you to open your church home to the Praise Guitar Workshop,
and to myself personally, I think it's only reasonable that you
should know more about where I'm coming from spiritually. Here's
the Reader's Digest version...
Since being saved in 1977, I have attended three different churches.
Since I believe primarily in the authority of the Bible itself,
I'm not really much of a denominational guy. What I do believe in
is God the Father, the Creator of the universe, and His son Jesus,
who came not only as a living example of God on earth, but as the
sacrificial Lamb of God, given as propitiation for our sins. After
His death He rose again and ascended into heaven, and in doing so,
led the way for those who believe to follow Him. I fully realize
that I am only a sinner saved by grace, and that I can do nothing
in and of myself to fix the problem of sin in my life... except
to receive His free gifts of forgiveness and salvation through faith.
My whole life would be worthless, except that He attaches worth
to it. I believe in the power of the Lord to change hearts and minds,
and that He is just and righteous and good and merciful beyond measure.
In the end, the only thing that really matters is His grace. And
as believers, the natural response to receiving God's grace is worship.
As a musician and teacher, my greatest desire is to use every musical
tool available to worship Him more effectively myself, and then
to inspire and help other musicians who have the same heart for
worshipping God with excellence.
The Praise Guitar Workshop is a non-denominational community event,
designed to help raise the bar on the level of musical skill in
the local church. I hope you will get behind this event and inspire
the folks from your church to come. If you have any other questions,
please feel free to contact me. I'm always happy to discuss any
concerns you may have.
Sincerely,
